Rachel Mercer
Grand prize winner of the 2001 Vriendenkrans Competition in Amsterdam, Rachel Mercer was a member of the Metro String Quartet from 1994-2000 and later joined Aviv Quartet in 2002. The quartet was the first prize winner of the Melbourne and Bordeaux competitions.

Her debut album, "Room" was just released. This "raw" sounding solo cello album is a part of the critically acclaimed "Rooms" series of albums.

Rachel is also the principal cellist of Via Salzburg, an 11-piece chamber ensemble led by Mayumi Seiler.
